Our ClubsClubs in Arbor HillsGarden ClubIf you are interested in learning more about the wonderful worlds of gardening, horticulture, nature and conservation, consider joining the Arbor Hills Garden Club. The meeting are usually in members' homes where there are a variety of interesting programs. In the past years, programs have included such subjects as Aldo Leopold the Father of Conservation and Wildlife Management, Ornamental Grasses for Home and Garden, Rock Gardening Basics, Horticulture and Flower Shows, Bats: Myths and Reality, and Colors in Nature-in Macros and Micro scale. Speakers are usually experts in the subjects they present.In May there is the annual plant sale fundraiser which produces funds for our projects in neighborhood beautification and civic improvement. In the past this has included funding for the new lights which illuminate the entrance to Arbor Hills, underwriting the cost of the treatment of all crab apple trees on the boulevard for apple scab and also spring dandelion control on the boulevard medians. For more information, contact Patty Zahler at (608) 274-6398.Bridge Club - The Woman's Club also hosts neighborhood Bridge groups which meet once a month in three different groups on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings.Book Club - The Women's Club also includes a Book Club which meets once a month to discuss a variety of books.
